Para Sailing and Inclusive Competitions
The Australian Para Sailing Championships are held each year as part of the Sail Melbourne International Regatta at Royal Brighton Yacht Club, Melbourne.
Racing is held in conjunction with open fleet racing in the 2.4mR, Hansa 303, Liberty and SKUD 18 classes. Race scores of the teams which include an eligible para sailor are extracted to decide the Australian Para Sailing Championships.
A free coaching clinic for all Para sailors is held ahead of the Championships led by experienced coaches. National Para Classification is available (usually the day before competition starts) and all are welcome to the Para Sailing Forum held during the regatta.

Coaching & Performance Development
Before entering a National or International level event, you should have already mastered the basic sailing skills, be familiar with the class of boat you will be competing in, have a sound understanding of the racing rules and have developed your racing skills at a Club and State level. why coaching is important, who to contact in each State & Territory. You can learn a lot from sailors of all different classes at your club, but coaching can accelerate your skill development.
Coaches assist athletes in developing to their full potential. They are responsible for training athletes by analysing their performances, strengths and weaknesses, providing instruction and coaching in relevant skills and techniques and by providing encouragement.
