Most sailing clubs are run by volunteers, who fulfil a wide range of roles both on and off the water to help make the sport fun, safe, accessible and affordable for people of all backgrounds, ages and abilities. Clubs may provide training for roles that require certain skills or qualifications.
Volunteer roles can include administration, boat maintenance, instructing, safety boat operator, fundraising, social events coordinator, club committees, race management and community engagement.
